Our client is looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Energy Market Data Analyst to support renewable energy project development activities. This position is ideal for a data-driven professional with a strong grasp of energy market trends, who can synthesize information from diverse sources and generate independent insights that contribute to strategic growth. The successful candidate will be part of the newly established Business & Market Intelligence team within the Energy Sales & Markets department. This team is focused on building robust analytical capabilities across the organization. The broader department is responsible for managing energy contracts (e.g., Power Purchase Agreements) and providing market analysis and insights to internal teams, including development, sales, and senior management. Key Responsibilities Analyze power market prices, supply-demand dynamics, and other key indicators to support the development of renewable energy projects. Compare energy market forecasts from multiple data providers, identifying inconsistencies and forming independent evaluations. Conduct scenario analyses to assess investment and trading opportunities. Deliver insights on regulatory, economic, and market factors affecting renewable energy in key European markets. Handle large datasets using statistical and database tools to extract trends and actionable intelligence. Develop reports and presentations to support strategic decision-making across various internal stakeholders. Collaborate with development, finance, and policy teams to promote data-driven approaches to planning. Maintain and improve internal databases and tools for monitoring energy market trends. Candidate Profile Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the energy sector or at an energy data service provider. Market Knowledge: In-depth expertise in at least one of the following energy markets: United Kingdom, Ireland, Netherlands, Hungary, Poland, Germany, France, Spain, Finland. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Power BI and one or more common database or programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R); experience working with large datasets. Analytical Abilities: Strong capability to interpret complex data and convert it into strategic insights. Communication: Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of an additional European language is a plus. Critical Thinking: Ability to develop independent viewpoints and challenge assumptions through data-driven analysis. They aim to build, own, and operate a green iron plant in southern France, using Hydrogen and avoiding the high CO2 emissions from classical steel production. Product will be DRI/HBI a key and value-added ingredient in steel production. They will be a major contributor to decarbonize steel production in Europe and respond to a growing demand for zero carbon steel products. About the Role: Our client is seeking a Senior Control System Engineer to lead the development and deployment of control and safety systems for our first industrial-scale green iron plant. With around 15 years of experience, the ideal candidate is a recognized leader in automation, control, and instrumentation, able to structure, deliver, and ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of complex industrial systems. Based in Paris, this position involves close collaboration with internal and external engineering teams, project partners, and site operations at Fos-sur-Mer. Key Responsibilities: 1. Automation & Control System Design Define and deploy automation standards ensuring homogeneity across process packages. Develop control strategies and prepare technical specifications (functional diagrams, interlocks, control narratives, etc.). Lead design, integration, and validation of PLC/DCS/SIS/ESD/SCADA systems and associated cybersecurity measures. Supervise supplier studies, software development, and testing (FAT, SAT). Oversee commissioning, start-up, and performance tuning of automation systems. Define and implement the digitalization roadmap up to Level 4. 2. Instrumentation Expertise Specify, select, and validate instrumentation devices (analyzers, control valves, actuators, sensors). Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (IEC, ISA, ATEX). Oversee installation, calibration, and integration of field instrumentation. 3. Project Execution & Technical Leadership Lead subcontracted automation studies and ensure deliverable quality and schedule adherence. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams and junior engineers. Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL/LOPA reviews. Support site operations during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting. 4. Stakeholder Management Collaborate closely with EPC partners, suppliers, and internal engineering teams. Serve as the main point of contact for vendors and technical consultants. Regularly report project progress to the Engineering Manager. Manage automation and instrumentation documentation and quality compliance. Contribute to the continuous improvement of tools, standards, and engineering methods. Profile: Education: Engineering degree (master’s or equivalent) in Automation, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related field. Experience: ~15 years of experience in control and safety systems engineering within large industrial projects (FEED, EPC, EPCM). Proven track record in design, integration, and commissioning of automation systems in continuous process industries (steel, cement, chemicals, oil & gas, etc.). Strong experience with PLC/DCS/SIS/ESD platforms and HMI development. Field experience in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting automation systems. Strong technical leadership and ability to influence without direct authority. Excellent organization, rigor, and analytical thinking. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Team spirit and ability to coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders. Fluent in English and French (written and spoken). Willingness to travel in France and occasionally abroad.
